The Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbon

The Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbon is an admirable award given to servicemen and women of the United States Navy.  This ribbon was developed in May of 1980.  In order to receive this reputable ribbon, one must have served on a deployable unit for either 90 ensuing days or two cycles of at least 80 days within a twelve month period.  Members are also eligible if they served 12 months overseas.  When the crew of a ship commends this admirable award, they are allowed to paint the military ribbon on the starboard side of the vessel in order to account for the number of deployments the ship has seen in its commissioned life.  This is an honorable military ribbon given to those who exemplify valor and duty to their country.
