The Army Sea Service Ribbon

Developed in 2006, the Army Sea Service Ribbon is bestowed upon Active Duty soliders in the US Army, as well as members of the United States Army Reserve, and Army National Guard for serving on the sea while aboard a Class A or B United States Army Vessel. To be awarded this honorary military ribbon, Active Duty members must serve two years of cumulative sea duty aboard Class A or B vessels. For Army Reservists, and members of the National Guard, soldiers must have two creditable years on a United States Army Watercraft unit. In addition to serving on a qualified vessel, members of the Reserve must serve 25 days or more within each of the qualifying years, as well as attend two training exercises annually on a Class A or B vessel. Spending ninety days on board a class A or B vessel while deployed also qualifies. For activated National Guard, and Army Reserve soldiers, serving one year of active duty is creditable for the 2 year requirement, as long as the minimum requirement is met.  Serving aboard a vessel is a daunting duty we call upon our soldiers to partake in; all should appreciate those veterans who were called upon to defend our country on the sea.
