The correct set-up for Military Ribbons

June 26th 2012 - 5:39 am

It is not only a matter of getting the right military ribbons or military medals for your military uniform, it is equally important to have them in the correct order and set-up. Yes, it is true that a lot of the time individuals have a wrong military ribbon in the set, or they very often are missing a military ribbon or military medal. In addition to having the incorrect ribbons or medals, it is equally common to have the wrong devices or attachments. Even the information that a service member gets from his personal center concerning his military awards is very often hard to understand. Sometimes it has a column for devices, and sometimes it says total awards, which these to headings meen something totally different. If it is a sheet that lists awards, than it is inclusive of all awards to include the first one. When your information sheet states devices, or additional awards it is usually telling you how many additional devices to place on the military ribbon or military medal

Help with Military ribbons

June 25th 2012 - 5:36 am

I am trying to find a site that will allow me to look up the army ribbons and military medals that were awarded to a family member, and would appreciate any help with this. I am not sure if I can get replacement medals or if I need to purchase these military awards as replacements. My Grandfather was in WWII and he recieved several military ribbons and military medals, but they were lost in a fire, and we would like to put together a shadow box before too much time passes, and we do not have the information any more. I had heard that there is an organization that could look up this information, and if anyone could help me with this it would be greatly appreciated.

Awarding of Military Ribbons

June 7th 2012 - 7:35 pm

Military ribbons and military medals are merely a symbol of the devotion and dedication that a service member has for his country. The acts of valor that are endured by men and women during times of combat are often achnowledged by the awarding of the Bronze star medal, or the meritorious service medal. The Purple Heart medal is awarded to those that get injured while in a combat situation. There are many other ribbons and military medals that are awarded when one participates in a wartime campaign, and it is not uncommon for a soldier to receive three or four different awards while being deployed. The criteria for many of these military awards is usually different, and very specific to locations and time periods. In addition to specific theater military ribbons and Medals, there are the awarding of ribbons for overseas service, and joint service.

Military Ribbons

Recently I ried to order my navy ribbons from an on-line company, and I became very frustrated with the lack of customer service that I received. I originally was going to order the original slide-on ribbons to replace my old set of ribbons. After getting bad service, and talking to a service woman that was not only un-proffessional, but also not very knowledgable about military awards I almost gave up. A fellow Marine friend of mine suggested I contact mymilitarymedals by phone, and boy am I glad I made that phone call. Not only did they take my order, but they answered all my questions, and added expedited service at no charge. For anyone looking to order military awards I strongly encourage you to call this company.
